Microtopping® covers the spaces of a villa in Eksaarde, designed by Dennis T’jampens and Vincent De Wever. The neutrality of Ideal Work’s microcement solution blends with other materials to create a home defined by visual continuity and fluid transitions between elements.

The power of Microtopping® finds expression across every space of this residence. We are in Eksaarde, Belgium, where a distinctive home designed by Dennis T’jampens and Vincent De Wever foregrounds the way concrete’s neutrality interacts with other materials to create interiors defined by tranquility, refinement, and craftsmanship. The project unfolds through pure volumes and balanced proportions, recalling traditional Flemish rural houses while reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens.

With continuity as one of the project’s central themes, Microtopping® discreetly becomes a key presence within the interiors. Applicable to any surface—horizontal or vertical—with a thickness of just 3 mm, Microtopping® is among Ideal Work’s most versatile solutions. At the entrance, a sculptural staircase clad in Microtopping® immediately comes into view. The material follows every curve and line in a gentle, uninterrupted flow from bottom to top, transforming the staircase into a striking visual element. Used also to finish the living room bench, Microtopping® creates a focal point while offering comfortable, elegant seating. While the living area features wooden flooring, in the kitchen and dining area Microtopping® fluidly connects the spaces and highlights the craftsmanship of the central fireplace. The kitchen itself is essential and linear, integrating elegantly through dark, clean-lined cabinetry and a light stone countertop. The absence of superfluous elements enhances the quality of the materials and the precision of the construction details.

In the bathroom, Microtopping® covers the floor, the walls, and even the shower enclosure, whose rounded form softens the clean lines of the material. The result is a sensory experience of calm and relaxation. The pairing with natural stone—used for the sink, shower bench, and bathtub detailing—creates a pleasing visual and tactile contrast between textures, giving the bathroom a refined contemporary elegance.

The result is a modern home that brings together tradition and innovation, complementing the quiet dimension of the countryside with maximum living comfort.
