In this Belgian apartment, historical details and contemporary design coexist in perfect balance, creating spaces that are warm, essential, and full of character. Microtopping® features in the bathroom, on the kitchen countertop, and on elected furnishings, completing the project with visual continuity and understated elegance.

In Belgium, an apartment that embodies a refined balance between architectural heritage and contemporary sensibility is at the centre of this project. Its identity is shaped through a harmonious combination of elements: historic architecture, modern design, personal objects, and natural light. The result is a space that is both elegant and authentic, where each room is the result of a subtle balance between formal rigour and domestic warmth.

Located within a historic building, the residence preserves original features such as high ceilings decorated with stucco and classical mouldings, as well as herringbone parquet flooring. These elements are complemented by minimalist furnishings and warm colour accents in a dialogue that is both coherent and successful: the historic structure remains the protagonist, while contemporary surfaces and furniture introduce a fresh, measured language.

The heart of the home is the living area, conceived as a fluid space connecting the kitchen, dining room, and lounge. The kitchen, essential and minimalist, unfolds along a single wall with a clean aesthetic, while illuminated suspended shelves serve both storage and decorative functions. The dining area reveals a more playful character: the softly shaped table, together with the bench and chairs, creates a composition reminiscent of the 1970s, enhanced by the colours of the furnishings and unexpected vibrant accents that gently break the overall restraint. In the background, the living room takes on the character of a small private gallery, where artworks, prints, and objects coexist with furniture of a vintage spirit.

The bathroom reflects the same design philosophy. Neutral tones and clean lines are enriched with pop details and warm accents. The large vanity top interacts with fittings in warm metal tones and with a composition of woven baskets that adds texture and colour. The glass shower and integrated bathtub help maintain a sense of visual continuity, while the backlit mirror enhances the brightness of the space.

It is no coincidence that Microtopping® was chosen for the kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, and the cladding of selected furnishings—including the warm pink table. Its material continuity and velvety texture perfectly complement the retro-contemporary spirit of the interiors, integrating with elegance and visual lightness. Easy to clean and resistant to wear and water, it is also an ideal solution for bathrooms and kitchens, giving them a contemporary and refined character. Together with the perfectly finished ceiling, it contributes to creating a harmonious and relaxing environment, capable of conveying a deep sense of serenity.
