At the new Moxy London Piccadilly Circus, the lounge bar floor is defined by Solidro, the new finish by Ideal Work, bringing a strong tactile character to the space. Complementing the theatrical atmosphere of the interiors, its richly saturated tones help create an enveloping, immersive setting with a timeless feel.
In the heart of the West End, just a short walk from Piccadilly Circus, the new Moxy London Piccadilly Circus brings Marriott’s lively, unconventional aesthetic to the British capital. Housed within the historic Criterion Building and created through an adaptive reuse project, the hotel comprises 532 rooms, making it the largest Moxy in the world outside New York. Designed by Finch Interiors, the interiors reinterpret the building’s theatrical heritage through dramatic spaces, saturated colours, enveloping surfaces and a sophisticated lighting scheme.
The lounge bar is conceived as an immersive space with a strong emphasis on materiality. Monumental arches, curved geometries, metallic surfaces and glowing accents in shades of amber and magenta create a sequence of fluid, interconnected settings. The reference to Helios, the Greek god of the sun, recalls the famous Horses of Helios fountain on the building’s façade.
Within this context, Solidro provides a sense of continuity throughout the space. Ideal Work’s latest finish, Solidro is a seamless, waterproof decorative micro-finish for interiors with a vibrant textured appearance. Used across the lounge bar floor, it follows the project’s sinuous lines, connecting the lounge, seating areas, stepped platforms and circulation routes without interrupting the visual flow of the space. The warm tone selected for the finish interacts with the LED lighting and metallic reflections from the metallic surfaces, contributing to the intense, theatrical and contemporary atmosphere that defines this new London destination.
