An Italian company with a cosmopolitan character.

An employee of Moroccan origin wins the first Nord-Est Aperto Award.

The cosmopolitan spirit of Ideal Work - Europe’s foremost stamped concrete floor company with main place of business in Valla’ di Riese Pio X in the province of Treviso (Italy) has recently been rewarded yet again in a perhaps unusual but no less welcome way.

Fig. Adil El Hachimi receives the Nord-Est Aperto Award.

Adil El Hachimi, a warehouseman with the company, has been the first person to be awarded the Nord-Est Aperto Award. It is a new event sponsored by the Rotary Club of the Province of Treviso together with the Chamber of Commerce, UniCredit Group as well as the Proetica and Ucid Associations, with the aim of rewarding non-EU workers employed by companies in the province of Treviso, who stand out for their particular qualities of diligence and willingness to integrate.
The prize, awarded by a jury chaired by the sociologist Ulderico Bernardi, is intended to help create and disseminate a constructive interethnic society culture to encourage the integration of new immigrants into the town and provincial social fabric. The workers, who are recommended by their employers for the prize, must have been residing in Italy regularly for at least 5 years.

Adil El Achimi, 26 years old, arrived in the Treviso area from Morocco about twenty years ago to join his parents. He attended primary and secondary school in the Veneto region and then started to work for a local metal and mechanical firm. He first came to the Ideal Work warehouse in 2005. In 2009 he will be directly in charge of a new internal production line.
“Adil is a fine boy” says Maurizio Pontello, Ideal Work Technical Manager, who accompanied him to the prize-giving ceremony held last 3rd December at Palazzo Giacomelli, the offices of Unindustria Treviso (Employers’ Association) “He’s not just a great worker, but is enterprising and has a natural ability to put himself in the customer’s shoes, managing to identify and often anticipate their needs and curiosities. From the moment he came to us he enthusiastically threw himself with rare eagerness into studying our products, showing exceptional discernment in foreseeing their success and evolution. For example, his contribution to the organisation of the training courses for floor layers, which are held periodically at our place of business, has become fundamental over the years; he is the one who, often completely independently, prepares the samples and the materials to be used for the demonstrations which are always hugely successful. We were amazed, especially at the beginning, by how easily he gained the esteem and confidence of our customers, even the most uncommunicative ones… When we heard about the prize set up by Rotary, we immediately thought of Adil as the ideal candidate and the results have proved us right!”.
