Ideal Work Joints

A JOINT FOR EVERY NEED

Ideal Work developed a whole set of preformed construction joints to meet and solve all the needs and problems that could arise when designing a floor. Not just a single joint “suitable to any kind of situation”, we are speaking instead about three different joints since they have been designed to solve specific problems. At the same time all characterized by high reliability, extremely easy placement and bidirectional operation, typical of the joints by Ideal Joint:

- Ideal Joint Classic
- Ideal Joint Performance
- Dual Joint

IDEAL JOINT CLASSIC

WHAT IT IS.

IDEAL JOINT CLASSIC is a preformed construction joint for industrial concrete floors that can move into two ways. IDEAL JOINT CLASSIC is characterized by a very easy placement as well as a highly reliable operation.

FIELDS OF USE

IDEAL JOINT CLASSIC is suitable for all makes of industrial reinforced concrete floors instead of the traditional “beam” joints. It can be also used to obtain intermediate expansion joints in case of extremely wide background paintings or radiant heated floors. This enables to decide the distance between the slabs according to the expected thermal expansions.

IDEAL JOINT PERFORMANCE

WHAT IT IS.

IDEAL JOINT PERFORMANCE is a preformed construction joint for industrial concrete flooring with bidirectional movement, specially designed to be used in situations of high stresses and vehicular traffic such as warehouses, logistic centres, etc.

FIELDS OF USE

IDEAL JOINT PERFORMANCE is suitable for being used instead of traditional “beam” joints on those concrete floors exposed to high traffic of heavy goods vehicles such as warehouses, logistic centres, etc...not to mention all of those situations where there is a high amount of crashes of heavy metal objects against the joint edges.

DUAL JOINT

WHAT IT IS.

DUAL JOINT is a preformed construction joint, specially designed to realize two concrete slabs on which ceramic coatings will be applied. DUAL JOINT is characterized by an extremely easy and rapid placement as well as a very high operation reliability.

FIELDS OF USE

DUAL JOINT is specially designed for shopping malls, exhibiting areas floors and any other situation where loads require a concrete slab of at least 10 cm of thickness while aesthetic and functional requirements or design provide a ceramic coating finishing. In those cases, in order to prevent cracks to appear and tiles to detach, it is necessary to get expansion joints inside the ceramic coating precisely where the supporting concrete slab joints lies. Special aluminium profiles can be found on the market, which are suitable to realize this kind of joints, guaranteeing at the same time high resistance to stresses, such as those due to the wheels of a fork-lift. These elements have to be placed into a concrete footing of at least 40 mm of thickness that has to be between the underlying concrete slab and the ceramic coating.
In most cases, such as large-span prefabricated floors, issues such as thickness, weight or merely economic reasons suggest not to use any concrete footing. The coating should be instead glued right onto the structural slab. Just think that the unavoidable phenomena causing the footing to warp, accentuated by its scarce thickness, can cause its local detachment and lifting from the underlying slab. In these very areas, the footing cracks down under the load of the fork-lifts and trucks and may cause the ceramic coating to crack and to become detached.
DUAL JOINT enables to get with a single element both the construction joint into the underlying concrete slab and the expansion joint within the ceramic coating. The placement interventions are thus made far easier and any risk of misalignment between the two joints which causes frequent failures in the ceramic floors is thus ruled out.
Using DUAL JOINT enables moreover not to realize the concrete footing and to place the coating right on the underlying concrete slab thus making the resulting system stiffer, less exposed to warping, lighter and cheaper. Moreover, working times are extremely reduced since placement and waiting times for the footing to dry are saved up.
